Something To Read . . .

Psalm 119:11-16

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you oh Lord, teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways; I delight in your decrees. I will not neglect your word.”

Something To Read . . .

Isaiah 55:10-11
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

James 4:2-3
“You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

Something To Try For Yourself . . .

What might happen if you read the Bible every day for 21 days? It could be an interesting test . . . to see if God does something in your life because you've decided to plant His Word in your heart.

Try it. Start planting the Word of God in your heart, daily, beginning this week. Use one of these three resources as your inspiration:

  • Read one chapter from the Book of John each Day, using the 21-Day Challenge. Here, you'll also find simple questions at the end of each chapter.
  • If you have one of the This Book Is Alive Gospels, read one chapter from the Gospel of John each day and answer the questions found in the back.
  • Take the challenge on your own, following the helpful guidelines of Your Daily Challenge.

You'll discover more about Jesus and what his plan for your life and what incredible benefits he has for those who follow him.

Something To Pray About . . .

It's not easy to develop a new habit… even a very good new habit. God will help!

  • Pray that God would help you establish a new habit of reading His Word every day.
  • Pray that God would reveal His plan for your life through reading His Word.

Did you know that you can enter your own prayer requests on the League website?

One Last Thought . . .

Could it be that we don't have what God wants for us in our lives because we haven't been planting His Word in our hearts?
